Forest ReLeaf: 1 Million Trees!

311,000 Trees Planted, 1 Million Here We Come!

Forest Releaf is a non-profit organization based out of St. Louis, Missouri. They have set out to plant 1 million trees by 2020 and they will be accomplishing their goal soon. ReLeaf is a catalyst for restoring and sustaining urban forests. With the help of thousands of volunteers, they are planting trees and enriching communities.

Since their inception in 1993, thousands of trees have been planted throughout Missouri and Illinois.  These projects have increased tree canopy in low-income areas, assisting with reforestation after major weather disasters and those undertaken to promote peace and healing in their communities. They have an over a 6-acre nursery where exclusively grown native trees and shrubs to Missouri and grown for their plating efforts.  Through the coordination of spring and fall giveaways, anyone who applies’s for trees is eligible for free tree’s if they promise to plant them on public land.

Their planting efforts, species composition, ecosystem benefits, projects, partner organizations, and much more are being tracked and managed in the TreePlotter™ INVENTORY Plant MOre Trees app.

All of their efforts currently equate to $126,188,782 Overall Monetary Benefits; including energy savings, air quality, and stormwater abatement. Proof that a little progress each day adds up to big results.
