Ian started Plan-It Geo in 2012 after 11 years of private industry consulting in Colorado. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Forest Management with a minor in GIS/Remote Sensing from Colorado State University. Ian has managed or contributed to complex geospatial projects involving urban forestry, green infrastructure planning, water supply & water conservation analysis, energy assurance planning, wildfire risk assessment, forest health monitoring, and stormwater financing/utility planning. In 2011, the Society of Municipal Arborists presented Ian with an Award of Achievement.
Clayton holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy with a Computer Science minor from Metropolitan State University. Clayton first joined Plan-It Geo in 2014 as a consultant to work on statewide Tree Plotter apps. Since then, he created our cloud-based infrastructure, implemented an open-source software stack, and made key contributions to the architecture of Tree Plotter and other Urban Forest Cloud apps. In addition to several years in software and web development roles, he has experience in e-learning, instructional design, and technology education.
Michael Gentry specializes in developing internet programs and mobile technologies. Based in Plan-It Geo's Charlotte, NC office, he graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Business Management with coursework in engineering. For Plan-It Geo, Michael builds web and mobile software applications for off-the-shelf tools such as Tree Plotter, Work Order Management, and Canopy Planner, and develops custom software applications.
Evan graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelors degree in Economics and Cuyamaca College with a degree in Arboriculture. Evan is also an ASCA registered consulting arborist and an ISA certified arborist, tree risk assessor, and tree worker. At Plan-It Geo, Evan is responsible for business development of Tree Plotter and all other Plan-It Geo urban forestry solutions. Matt graduated from Colorado State University with Bachelors in Business Administration, and completed a Certificate in Geographic Information System at Front Range Community College. Before working at Plan-It Geo, he was a Senior GIS Analyst at West Safety Services. At Plan-It Geo, Matt will be assisting current client, making sure they receive the highest standard of customer support and have ready knowledge of our tools, modules, and training resources.
Patrick graduated from Colorado State University in 2014 with a degree in Watershed Science and a minor in Sustainability. At Plan-It Geo, Patrick contributes to consulting and software development projects from initial data gathering to product delivery by providing QAQC, data management, i-Tree environmental modeling, GIS modeling and analysis, and cartography. Patrick manages open source software databases using PostGreSQL and PostGIS technologies for Plan-It Geo's Tree Plotter, Work Order Management, Canopy Planner applications, and custom projects. He also provides technical support and training.
Charlie graduated from Colorado College with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and a minor in Geographic Computer Science. Before Plan-it Geo he worked at Xcel Energy in their Asset and Data Management department. At Plan-it Geo he is on the software support team assisting projects from initial data gathering to product delivery. He also provides technical support and training to clients.
Alexa graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelors of Science in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability and a minor in Spatial Information Management. Previously, she has worked as a GIS/Remote Sensing contractor for the NASA Develop National Program and a geospatial analyst for Boeing. At Plan-It Geo, Alexa contributes to projects from setup to product delivery on the software support team, including application customization and database management. She also provides technical support and training for customers.
Elizabeth is based in the Monroe, Wisconsin office working on marketing, branding, and urban forestry consulting. She holds a Bachelors of Agricultural Science in Urban Forestry from Western Illinois University and Associates of Applied Science in Arboriculture from Northeast Iowa Community College. At Plan-It Geo, Elizabeth raises awareness of our software and services by working with government, nonprofit, and private entities. She has previous experience in communications, training, education & outreach, project management, and grant administration at the WI DNR.
Dan graduated from Clark University in 2013 with a degree in Geography. In addition he has had a strong interest in computer programming throughout his life. At Plan-It Geo, Dan helps with Software QA by writing automated software tests, developing and improving software, and providing support to clients.
David graduated from Metropolitan State University in 2010 with a degree in Computer Information Systems. David began his career working in support and system administration. For Plan-It Geo, David will be helping with our enjoyable Tree Plotter experience by correcting software defects, creating new features, and providing customer support.
Dan graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer & Information Sciences. He has an extensive background in software development and software project management and has also been involved in Arts & Entertainment as well as Education in the local community.. At Plan-It Geo, Dan is the Software Project Manager and works with clients and the development team to establish product releases strategies and assists with aligning development efforts with corporate product vision.
Chris is an ISA certified arborist based in Plan-It Geo's Harrisburg, PA office. He has a Bachelors degree in Urban Forestry, and his professional background includes: forestry, urban forest management, green infrastructure planning and GIS. Chris is a graduate of the Municipal Forestry Institute, Urban Forestry Institute, and Urban Forest Strike Team Training. At Plan-It Geo, Chris provides expertise in project management, business development, technical writing, and consultation in the areas of urban forest management and green infrastructure planning. Justine graduated from Metropolitan State University with a Bachelors in Marketing, and an Associates degree in Sociology. At Plan-It Geo, Justine works in close proximity to all marketing related activities, both digital and traditional. Her position entails keeping our social media sites and website current, producing digital and traditional marketing material, and helping prepare for industry-related conferences.
Jeremy graduated from Colorado State University with a Masters in Natural Resources Stewardship and Spatial Information Systems. He has an undergraduate degree in Geography with a minor in Economics from the University of Vermont. At Plan-It Geo, Jeremy contributes to GIS modeling, remote sensing analysis of multispectral and LiDAR imagery, data production, IT, cartography, task management within the geospatial team, Urban Tree Canopy (UTC) assessment reports and delivery, and web/mobile mapping apps.
Carrie graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Geography and Sustainability from the University of Iowa. Before Plan-It Geo, Carrie interned with Chicago Wilderness, working on conservation issues and GIS. This past summer she worked for Cherry Creek State Park to educate park visitors and prevent the spread of aquatic nuisance species. At Plan-It Geo, Carrie will be assisting with urban tree canopy assessments by performing quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on remote sensing land cover classification data
Maegan comes to Plan-It Geo from the West Coast, where she completed her Bachelor’s in Geography at the University of California Berkeley and her Master’s in Conservation Planning at the University of California Santa Barbara. She also served a year as an AmeriCorps volunteer in New York City, where she assisted with their citywide street tree census and discovered her passion for urban forestry. She supports the Plan-It Geo GIS team by performing quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on remote sensing land cover classification data, assisting with the production and reporting of Urban Tree Canopy assessments, and facilitating administrative duties such as task management, budgets, project proposals, and client communication.
Ben attended The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs where he earned a degree in Geography and Environmental Studies with a certificate in GIS. Following university, Ben found an interest in forestry and natural resource management while giving his time and skills to an organization in Black Forest, Colorado. At Plan-It Geo, Ben applies natural resource and forestry concepts to understand and manage environmental and geographic (GIS) data sets. He reviews geographically modeled data using geospatial geoprocessing tools and provides QA/QC to review, organize and process aerial imagery and remotely sensed land cover data.
T.J. obtained a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Colorado State University, and has become an ISA Certified Arborist and Qualified Tree Risk Assessor. At Plan-It Geo, T.J. manages surveys and clients across the country (25+ inventory projects in 8 states). He also contributes to web/mobile application sales, software presentations/demos, GIS data development, land cover classification quality control, urban forest and natural resources assessments, design of planting plans, report compilation, and preparation of project deliverables. April is an ISA certified arborist based in Plan-It Geo’s office in Baltimore, MD. She has a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Ecology and Field Biology. She is a certified Master Watershed Steward and has a background in field work including bat, owl, and plant surveys. April conducts tree inventories and quality control. Abel De La Mora attended the University of Northern Colorado where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Geography with an emphasis in GIS as well as a supplemental minor in Environmental Studies. Before Plan-It Geo, Abel interned with the City of Greeley Stormwater Division where he designed and implemented a city-wide drainage delineation project that was later used to conduct a spatial analysis for urban development. At Plan-It Geo, Abel will be assisting with Urban Tree Canopy (UTC) assessments by performing quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on remote sensing land cover classification data.
Noah Polizzotto graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in the field of Geography with an emphasis in Global and Area Studies and a minor in Geographic Information Systems. Noah was an intern at the city of Greeley assisting their GIS team with the collection of impervious surfaces from aerial imagery to be used for stormwater cost factor analysis and worked as a Maritime GIS Technician at CACI International constructing digital naval charts from hardcopy sources and satellite imagery. Noah is now a part of the GIS team at Plan-It Geo providing QA/QC support and report writing for Urban Tree Canopy Assessments.
Kim holds a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Education. After teaching for 8 years, she moved into graphics design, writing, and marketing roles. She is part of our design team on all marketing projects and materials, social media manager, and website manager and designer.
George "Trent" Johnston III is a Tree Inventory Specialist and a certified arborist at Plan-it Geo. He recently graduated from Virginia Tech in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Resource Management and a minor in Urban Forestry. Trent has inventoried over 40,000 trees in 5 different states since he started working at Plan-it Geo. He enjoys the outdoors and is excited to be apart of future projects with the company.
Jack graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Policy & Management. He is currently based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. At Plan-It Geo, Jack contributes to inventory projects across the country while specializing in tree identification, risk assessment and tree management techniques.
